Family, friends and whoever else actually reads this blog... we are still alive and baby has not arrived yet. Honestly I haven't been in the blogging mood lately. Our week nights have been filled with visitors and baby classes and our weekends have been filled with some chores and watching The Good Wife. On a side note, have you seen that show? Joe and I are hooked. We've been seeing the doctor on a weekly basis lately and have now seen all five doctors on the rotation at our hospital. Last week the doctor said I was measuring precisely to my due date and everything was right on track. My weight gain, blood pressure and baby's heart rate were all right where they need to be too. It has been so great during this journey to know that baby has been healthy, I'd like to think I had something to do with that! Yes, that was me taking credit for baking this bun in my oven. Ha!
Week Number: 38 Weeks, 2 Days
Baby Size: Watermelon (6.5 pounds)
Sleep: I have still been able to get a good nights rest. With the exception of the tricky maneuver I have to perform just to roll over, everything has been fine. Our schedules have allowed me to go to bed at a decent time, allowing me to get about 8 hours of sleep each night. I hear this is important to do before baby arrives... seeing that sleep goes out the window.
Movement: I love that I have never had to worry if our baby is doing ok in there. I feel movement pretty regularly and enjoy it every time (yes, even in the middle of the night).
Symptoms: Last week I did have one night after work where my feet were definitely swollen. I knew it was because I had been on my feet for majority of the day and was just plain busy at work. No worries though, I kicked my feet up and relaxed at home. My feet were back to normal the next day and have been fine ever since.
Belly Button: We've been monitoring this one lately because I'm oh-so-close to an outtie. So far Joe and I agree, my bellybutton is puckering, but it's not an outtie... yet.
Best Moment of the Week: Even though this was a little over a week ago, we had a great time with my mom when she came to visit. She was so much fun to have around, plus so helpful with laundry and cooking meals for us to eat after baby arrives. We even had some time to go shopping, get pedicures and see a movie. Thank you mom for making the trip!!
Looking Forward To: Finding out if our family is growing by one girl or one boy. The closer we get to the due date and ultimately the day our baby decides to joins us, the more anxious I get to find out if baby will be a boy or girl. Joe and I will, of course, welcome either with excitement, but I'd like to know if we have pink bows or blue soccer balls in our future.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (35 Weeks)
I don't have too much in terms of updates for this week. This baby is still growing and I'm getting bigger too. Tonight I'm bowling with my coworkers... this should be interesting. Can't say I bowl much to begin with, but when you add this big belly I think it might get even harder. Wish me luck!
Week Number: 35 Weeks, 2 Days
Baby Size: Large Cantaloupe (about 5.5 pounds)
Sleep: This has still been just fine. It helps that our weekends are consumed by trips or lots of activity. I'm able to sleep in and get plenty or shut eye.
Movement: Still very consistent and strong at times. I'm starting to be able to notice where baby is laying by the firmness of my belly. As the nurse pointed out to me a couple weeks ago I'm pretty sure I still feel kicking me on my right side. Sometimes it's way up at my rib cage. This movement still amazes me and I love it. I said to Joe the other day that I'm anxious to meet our baby, but I'll probably also miss feeling the movement inside my belly. Oh well, once baby arrives I'll have lots of other things on my mind.
Symptoms: Still nothing to really complain about. No heartburn, swelling, varicose veins, etc. I'm considering myself very luck.
Belly Button: Still an innie! I still don't think this will change, but it's amazing how close I'm getting to pushing this belly button outwards.
Best Moment of the Week: This one is easy... I got a prenatal massage over the weekend. Friends of ours gifted me the massage and so I went to the spa on Saturday and enjoyed some pampering.
Looking Forward To: I'm anxious for our doctor appointment next week (my 36 week checkup). The main reason is to find out whether this baby is head up or head down. I've been very curious this whole time what position baby was in. Even when baby was moving or twirling in my belly, I'd love to have a way to see what sort of contorted angle baby is sleeping in. Of course I'm also looking forward to my mom traveling to Charlotte to visit! She arrives in a little over a week and I think I've been counting down the days for weeks now. It will be great to spend some time with her, but I also know she'll help us with any last minute preparations we have before baby gets here.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (33 Weeks)
Can't say I have huge updates this week on the pregnancy front. I've officially decided that this dress I take my weekly pictures in is not the most flattering outfit. On a different note, I have to say Joe has done a great job keeping these pictures consistent week. Although it's not one shot and we're done. We always make sure to take 6-8 just in case. Then I have a chance to weed through them and save the best ones. Thank you Joe for helping me document my ever changing body!
Week Number: 33 Weeks,2 Days
Baby Size: Pineapple (18 inches, 4.5 pounds)
Sleep: Luckily lately we haven't had much of a social life on the weekends (plus we can't travel anywhere) so our weekends have been great opportunities for us to catch up on sleep. Well, maybe not catch up (we normally can get about 8 hours each night during the week), more so get extra sleep. I keep reminding myself that we need to take full advantage of that now before our little one joins us and sleep is unheard of. Just this last week I've started to notice a bit of fatigue set in. Not nearly as bad as the first trimester sleepiness, but each day I find myself feeling a bit tired in the afternoon/evening. Totally normal, right?
Movement: Just like always this baby has not been shy about making his/her presence known. I have never had to worry about the baby doing well inside the womb because movement is frequent. I love it and Joe loves enjoying it too. It's almost a routine for us to sit on the couch at night after eating dinner and for Joe to place his hand on my belly to feel the movement.
Clothes: For the most part I've completely transitioned into maternity clothes (as to be expected at this point). But the time that I steer clear is weekends or anytime that I'm lounging at home. I've started to wear a few of Joe's t-shirts or some of my own that are on the bigger size. Oh and with the chilly weather we keep having, my sweatshirts have been perfect to wear over my big ol' belly. Comfort over style for this girl!
Symptoms: I was just reading through the common list of symptoms to see at this stage of pregnancy. Most don't apply to me, but a few might. First one is clumsiness... although I don't think of myself as a normally clumsy person, I did trip up the stairs last week. It was at work, I was wearing my flats (as opposed to heels!) It scared me enough that now I constantly remind myself to just take it easy. No need to walk fast or be in a hurry. Second is shortness of breath. I find when I'm not sitting up straight that my breathing is somewhat restricted. Just a good reminder to have good posture I guess.
Best Moment of the Week: Visiting the doctor last week was actually pretty exciting. After the snow storm in Charlotte we missed an appointment so it had been a while since we got an update on our little one. The heartbeat was at a steady 144 (slowing down a bit from previous appointments, which we were told is totally normal). I'm also on track for weight gain and my belly is measuring right in line with our due date.
Looking Forward To: My mom is coming to visit us in Charlotte in a few short weeks and I'm super excited to see her! Oh and the fact that today is Ash Wednesday reminds us how close we are to our (about ) Easter due date. Bring on the baby!

Weekly Pregnancy Update (31 Weeks)
Just like my brother I'm in the 30's now (shout out to Scott who just turned 30 years old on Friday. Happy Birthday brother!) No, I'm not 30 years old yet, but instead I am 31 weeks pregnant. I'm right at that mark where no more traveling is allowed per my doctor. I guess I'll be staying put here in Charlotte until this little baby decides it's go time.
Unfortunately it has been a crazy busy week for Joe and I. We have yet to snap my weekly pregnancy pictures. Don't worry, we'll make sure to document something. I'm pretty sure we haven't sat at home one night this week to watch TV or eat ice cream. What a shame! I do, however, have these nice pictures I took a couple days ago. They will just have to do.
Week Number: 31 Weeks, 3 Days
Baby Size: Head of Lettuce (19 inches and 3.5 pounds)
Sleep: I have been winning the sleep game lately. I'm pleasantly surprised with how well I've been able to snooze. I got ride of the pillow I was testing between my knees (someone suggested this to help level out my hips). Instead I grabbed a small pillow to rest under my belly. When lying on my side it's the perfect size to support the extra weight. It is a regular occurrence, however, for baby to start moving right when I'm relaxed and close to snoozing. Luckily it doesn't bother me much, did I mention how good of a sleeper I was before getting pregnant? I'm the type that can basically sleep anywhere (car, plane, etc.) The other morning I woke up around 4:30 and rolled over. Baby took this as the perfect opportunity for a dance party. I kid you not this child would not stop moving and the kicks/jabs/head butts were fierce. I kind of enjoyed it.
Movement: I pretty much summed up the movement above. Now that room is getting more and more scarce and baby is building muscle along with fat I get a few good jabs each day. I've read a couple times recently that around this time I should start counting kicks. Different websites recommend laying down for one hour and counting movement to make sure and get to at least ten. Well, let's just say I haven't needed to count any kicks, they happen quite regularly. I take them all as a happy sign that baby is healthy and growing.
Clothes:
Symptoms: I have been fortunate enough not to swell at all. My wedding rings are still somewhat loose (I was worried I wouldn't be able to wear them by this point in pregnancy due to swelling. This is really just something I witnessed in other people though so I shouldn't automatically assume it happens to everyone). I have also avoided the dreaded heartburn which I hear can be brutal around now. I'm counting my blessings to be able to avoid some of the nasty pregnancy symptoms. On the other hand, I've seen one weird/odd change in my body. I hate to even bring this up, but I want to document my true pregnancy so here goes... I've grown more hair on my belly. There, I said it. I'm not proud of this one, but it's the pregnancy cards I was dealt. It kind of makes me laugh though. Now my fingers are crossed that this stops once baby arrives.
Belly Button: Mine is still an innie, but wow, does it stretch! I'm curious to see if I can keep this innie of mine throughout the entire pregnancy. I'll keep you updated.
Best Moment of the Week: I think the best thing recently is feeling completely content. Although there are still items on our baby-to-do list, I feel like we're sitting at a very good spot. I told Joe the other day that my feeling of anxiousness and excitement to meet our little one is definitely outweighing any possible fear of labor. I also asked him to snap me out of it if I ever bring up labor in a fearful way. I know there's nothing to be worried about.
Looking Forward To: Tonight I'm attending a breastfeeding class at Babies R Us. I'm pretty excited about it because the whole idea of breastfeeding is so foreign to me. I'm sure I will learn a ton and hopefully it all will come in handy later on. Oh also, I mentioned this already, but his coming weekend is the baby shower my coworkers are throwing for us! Again, I'm blown away by their kindness to do this for Joe and I. Really they're doing it for our little one and I'm sure they're all excited to meet our baby eventually.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (29 Weeks)
Now that we've hit February this whole "due in April" concept is hitting home. Time is flying and I'm torn between anxious feelings of getting to meet our baby and enjoying pregnancy while I'm still pregnant. While uploading these pictures I took a look back at the early ones and wow, what a difference! Eventually I'll show them side by side for you. I can't believe how big of a difference there is. In other words, I can't believe how big my belly has grown! Actually I can look at it a different way... I can't believe how small I once was! Ha, that's pessimistic of me. There's plenty more growing still to come and I love it.
Week Number: 29 Weeks,2 Days
Baby Size: Butternut Squash (about 3 pounds and 17 inches)
Sleep: This is one area I've started to struggle with slowly. Every night is very different, but most nights lately have resulted in me waking often. Weather baby is moving around (see below because that movement didn't happen only during the day) or I'm rolling from side to side. Still a ways to go before the due date, I realize so I just keep a positive attitude that each night will be fine.
Movement: Oh boy I think our baby hit a growth spurt this week. It was two days ago that I didn't think baby slept one wink all day. Not only was it (almost) constant movement, it was strong movement! Some of those kicks were truly painful. I think we have a strong little one growing. I also think our baby has grown a lot lately because I can feel the hard spots in my belly where the baby is laying more often. I think the precious real estate in the womb is growing scarce. Of course this is all great news that our baby is developing and getting ready for the grand entrance!
Clothes: My wardrobe has slowly, but surely dwindled. There are still a few items I can still wear, but for the most part I've transitioned to the maternity clothes. Luckily we purchased a fair amount over the past few months to help. I really think the hard part about maternity clothes are picking out the outfit for work each day. When I'm at home I can easily find something to wear, but looking professional, yet being comfortable at work all day can be tricky.
Best Moment of the Week: As lame as it sounds there wasn't really any milestones or exciting events in the past week or two. Maybe my highlight was at work yesterday when I was helping greet guests in the hotel lobby. I had 3 or 4 guys come up to me and mention the pregnancy or congratulate me. I found it very touching, especially for guys to notice my belly and say something. It's safe to say there's no hiding this baby belly of mine any longer.
Looking Forward To: My baby shower! I just got the invite yesterday from my coworkers, it was so cute. I'm definitely saving it for the baby book.. It is so kind of them to throw me this party. I really shouldn't say it's my baby shower because it's definitely for Joe also. I work with a great group of gals (yes, the whole area sales team is female) and I'm so lucky that they want to host such a special party for us. Looking forward to February 22nd!

Weekly Pregnancy Update (27 Weeks)
This week marks my official entrance into the third trimester!! Oh boy, can you believe it? Part of me can believe it and part of me is having a hard time realizing this baby will be here soon. For the most part I'm just anxiously excited.
Week Number: 27 Weeks, 2 Days
Baby Size: Head of Cauliflower (16 inches and 2.5 pounds)
Sleep: I have been trying a few new sleeping tricks lately. I started with borrowing a body pillow from a coworker. That didn't quite cut it. The thing is huge and took up a quarter of our bed. It made it very difficult for both of us to have enough space to sleep comfortably. Now I've been trying a pillow between my knees to help alleviate strain on my hips. So far so good I'd say. I still get a little bit of pain in the middle of the night, but my mornings have been much better. I think I'll stick to this trick for a while.
Movement: Lots of it! Every day is so different with the kick pattern and amount of movement. I haven't been able to find much of a link between the time of day or foods I eat. I also think this baby has graduated from simple kicks and jabs to full out somersaults. This change of movement has taken some getting used to on my part, but I still love it!
Clothes: Getting dressed for work is becoming more and more challenging. I have to really think through what I'm going to wear and what will fit, comfortably. I think that last part is key, I might be able to wear something, but if it's not comfortable then I'm doomed for the day.
Symptoms: A few aches and pains here or there, but nothing major to complain about. I think I've mentioned this before, but Joe is there to help rub out my back if I get any pains. I also think riding the bike and going for walks has help this.
Best Moment of the Week: This is a twofold. First, I passed my glucose testing! That means to gestational diabetes for this gal. I visited the doctor last week to have the test done and my results came back this past Monday. The sugary drink that everyone warned me about was really not that bad. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I'd compare it to Hi-C or some sort of sugary sports drink. Secondly, we took out infant CPR class this past weekend. Afterwards I think we're both more confident on handling a little life in case of an emergency. Of course if anything were to ever happen it would not be easy, but at least now we know the techniques and what to do to help.
Looking Forward To: Seeing my brother. One perk of my job is traveling to DC, where Scott lives. I don't travel often, maybe four times per year, so it's not a burden. Actually it turns out to be a great opportunity to pop in and have dinner with my big brother.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (25 Weeks)
Well I'd say my baby belly has officially popped. I can definitely be pegged as the pregnant lady. I've even had a stranger and coworker ask if I'm pregnant. Is that appropriate to ask someone? Probably not. Luckily they were correct so my feelings weren't hurt. Granted I don't wear clothes like this dress on a normal day so I'm still able to hit this little baby belly pretty well.
Week Number: 25 Weeks, 3 Days
Baby Size: Eggplant (2 pounds)
Sleep: For the most part sleeping has still been decent. I've been experiencing some pains on my hips when I sleep on my sides though. Of course those are my only options for sleeping positions so I wish I could figure out how to get rid of the pains. All in all I still can't complain.
Movement: I think we have an active baby on our hands. I read that these next 3 weeks are the most active for the baby and I totally believe it. It has been so much fun to feel the baby move, but also see the movement on my stomach. I got to share this with many family members while home for the holidays too.
Clothes: I'm still able to wear most of my work clothes, however my pants are not buttoning completely. It has worked out well to leave them partially buttoned or completely unbuttoned (yet zipped). By some miracle they still stay up! I did just purchase some more maternity clothes over the past weekend (thanks to a Christmas gift card!) The complete transition to maternity clothes is definitely in my near future.
Symptoms: I've experienced just a bit of back pain here and there. Nothing substantial or worthwhile to complain about. Luckily Joe has jumped in to help rub out my pain.
Best Moment of the Week: It wasn't this past week, but seeing my family and close friends over the holiday was very special. Although we've seen most of them since finding out about the pregnancy, this time it was far more evident that there truly is a baby in my belly. We also got to share stories and got lots of helpful advice for our journey ahead. We also received a baby book for Christmas (thanks Scott and Amy!) which I'm thrilled to have and start filling out. It includes spaces for us to share our journey from confirming the pregnancy through school age. I really hope we can stick with it and fill it out well for our little one to look back it years from now.
Looking Forward To: Continuing to prepare for our babies arrival. We have an infant CPR class coming up at the hospital which will help us feel more at ease once responsible for a tiny human. We'll eventually start washing clothes, arranging the nursery, etc.
Week Number: 25 Weeks, 3 Days
Baby Size: Eggplant (2 pounds)

Weekly Pregnancy Update (21 Weeks)
Well I'm still in that awkward stage where strangers probably look at me and wonder: is she pregnant or does she just have a little extra padding? My pregnancy is not evident to everyone yet, but to me it's clear! Proof is below. Look, I have a baby belly!
Week Number: 21 Weeks, 1 Day
Baby Size: Spaghetti squash (11 inches, 1 pound). In all reality, who knows what a spaghetti squash looks like?! The best way to think of Baby E's size is a Barbie doll. From head to feet that's about the size of the baby at this point.
Sleep: I have been sleeping great lately. Fingers crossed this continues through the entire pregnancy. What? You say it won't? Well, we shall see!
Movement: Oh boy this is the best update I have this week. I feel Baby E kick and move around a lot. It's the best feeling ever! I even got Joe to feel the movement on my belly this past Sunday. It was pretty special for him to enjoy it as well. When I'm at work and I feel movement I like to stop what I'm doing and just focus on the baby. Of course that's only when I'm not busy or with a client. It's the weirdest, but coolest thing ever.
Clothes: I still haven't officially moved into maternity clothes, but I'll wear them every once in a while, for fun mainly. A few of my coworkers have made mention how they can start to see a belly, but then again they see me almost every day so they're bound to see small differences. I bought a few items on Black Friday from the sales. I'm really excited about the jeans I bought. Other than that I bought a pair of dress pants and a sweater dress (you know, because I still have to look nice at work). Part of me can't wait to be able to wear all of these items, but part of me also worries that by that point these items will be all I will be able to fit into!
Symptoms: Other than some acne issues, I haven't experienced many symptoms lately. I had a few "growing pains" last week which I think were just the ligaments pulling a bit. Nothing terrible by any means, just more annoying.
Best Moment Of The Week: Well this was about two weeks ago now, but most definitely our ultrasound. It was amazing to see our little one.
Looking Forward To: Going home for the holidays! We are getting so close to our trip home to see pretty much everyone on both sides of the family. It will be so great to spend some quality time with family and celebrate Christmas.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (19 Weeks)
I'm beginning to get a little belly (please feel free to sing that to the tune of "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas"). Because that's what I like to do. Another week has passed and so much has changed. We're nearing the half way mark of my pregnancy and time has flown by. Before we know it April will be here and our family will grow.
Week Number: 19 Weeks, 1 Day
Baby Size: Mango (6.5 inches, 10 ounces)
Sleep: I'm still sleeping pretty well and just enjoying those crazy dreams I have very often. Some nights when I get into bed I feel a little uncomfortable, but I just keep telling myself I can't have that yet... there's lots more of that to come.
Movement: I have officially confirmed with myself that I am feeling the baby move. It's not everyday and it's not at the same time of the day when I feel it, but I've decided this odd feeling I have is the baby. At first I questioned it, thinking maybe I just had some gas bubbles (exactly what multiple people told me to expect), but now I'm convinced it's more than that.
Clothes: Still wearing normal clothes, but I have started to buy a few maternity items.
Symptoms: I did experience two days of "morning sickness" last week that was not fun (at all!) That has since passed and I'm feeling good now.
Best Moment Of The Week: This is an easy one this week, our ultrasound! I'll share more about this later on, but it was truly amazing.
Looking Forward To: Looking obviously pregnant to strangers. I feel like I'm far from this point, but the idea of people noticing my growing belly is weirdly exciting to me. Is that weird of me? Oh and of course Thanksgiving. Can't wait to eat more pumpkin pie!

Weekly Pregnancy Update (17 Weeks)
Slowly but surely I'm noticing a slight change in my body size. It's hard to tell so far, but trust me, I can see it happening. I didn't post an update last week for two reasons: 1) there wasn't much to update you all about and 2) I was on work travel all week so I never had a chance to post. I will assure you all that we continue to take pictures each week even if I don't put them up on the blog. In the end we'll have a true week by week comparison.
Week Number: 17 Weeks, 1 day
Baby Size: Sweet potato (5.5 inches, 5 ounces). Honestly, who knows what a "normal" sweet potato size is??? We buy them all the time and trust me, they're all sorts of shapes and sizes!
Sleep: I've been sleeping very well lately. I'm over the days when I'd wake up to go to the bathroom and I'm before the so called "uncomfortable" stage that affects sleep. My dreams have been very vivid lately though. I think it has something to do with my movement and waking up a few times during the night. That's when I remember my dreams. It's pure entertainment for Joe when I tell him what my dream was about, you just can't make this stuff up!
Movement: Nothing, but I know it will happen in the next couple weeks!
Food Cravings: Nothing really
Food Aversions: Nothing really, I only eat what sounds good
Clothes: I'm still wearing all my normal clothes, but I can tell I'm getting closer and closer to needing maternity ones. It really depends on the piece of clothing. Some of my work pants are high waisted that I normally wear with a shirt/blouse tucked in. Well I wore one of those pants yesterday (I think to hold on to that last piece of normalcy) and I think those might need to be retired. Only because you can't unbutton the pants when your shirt is tucked in! On the other side I have started to buy a few maternity shirts so the clothes revolution has begun!
Symptoms: Very mild and nothing I would complain about. The books were right, I'd say I'm in the honeymoon stage of pregnancy where I have to pinch myself to believe I truly am pregnant. That "icky" feeling of the first trimester (although it wasn't accompanied by sickness) is pretty much gone and the aches and pains I hear are in my future have not surfaced yet. Overall I'm feeling pretty good.
Best Moment Of The Week:Well this was about two weeks ago, but we heard the heartbeat for the first time! It was quite unexpected actually when I went for my monthly check up. The nurse came in and told me to lay down so we could take a listen. Joe and I were both shocked and excited. The nurse did say she could tell the baby was moving a lot in there. Now we're wondering if this is a sign of what's to come!
Looking Forward To: The holidays! We bought our plane tickets for our trip home to Iowa over Christmas and the plan is to decorate the house this weekend. Although I'm not thrilled about the cold front coming our way (over night temps in the 20's???) I'm really looking forward to the holiday season.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (15 Weeks)
Another week has gone by, more pictures in the same dress were taken. I swear I don't even hang this dress in my closet any more, I just keep it downstairs for easy access.
Week Number: 15 weeks
Baby Size: Avocado (4-5 inches)
Movement: Still nothing, but I know it will happen soon and I'm super excited to feel our baby move around
Food Cravings: I don't think I've been craving anything crazy. Wonder if I ever will have true cravings?
Food Aversions: Can't really say there's much. I just find what sounds good to my body and eat that. Luckily there's plenty that I enjoy eating so I can get plenty of food.
Symptoms: I started getting a few dizzy spells recently, but other than that most of my symptoms have disappeared. Luckily I have some energy back and the headaches have stayed away (for the most part). I traveled for work this past week and everything was fine. The only thing I struggled with a bit was making sure to eat every few hours. It's not always easy when you're in meetings or not on your own schedule.
Best Moment Of The Week: Celebrating Joe's birthday.I pointed out the fact that this will be the last birthday celebration we have just the two of us. Days like that and other holidays (like Halloween) make me stop and say "wow, next year for this holiday we'll be a family of three." It's pretty exciting. I have to share the gift I bought Joe too. Of course my gift to him is really for our baby, however it's special to him. If you don't know, Joe is a huge Home Alone fan. You know those Christmas movies that are on TV every year. I don't blame him for wanting to watch it every time they're on, I like to also! Well I bought the onsie below just for him, a classic quote from the movie. Sorry the picture is so blurry.
Looking Forward To: Like I said earlier, I can't wait to feel the baby move.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (13 Weeks)
Look at me, I'm already falling behind with these weekly updates. I'm thinking what I'll do is continue to take pictures each week, but maybe not post an actual update. I still want a good comparison once this journey is complete (or I should probably say once our next journey begins.) A lot of the info doesn't change much from week to week anyways. This week I'll still include info because my biggest accomplishment is finally entering into the second trimester. Yippee!!
Week number: 13 weeks, 3 days (hellllllo second trimester!)
Baby Size: Lemon
Sleep: Just fine lately, getting about 8 hours each night
Movement: Nothing
Food Cravings: Nothing significant
Symptoms: I believe everything I read and what people have told me is true, I feel a lot better now that I've moved into the second trimester. Of course I hope that trend continues more and more. I have not been sick, feel like I have more energy and get less headaches.

Weekly Pregnancy Update (12 Weeks)
Joe and I decided it was time to officially start documenting the pregnancy. As you can probably guess I've been browsing Pinterest for a while for some great ideas. We decided on weekly (or biweekly, depending on how this goes) pictures in one same outfit plus some tidbits on my progression. I liked this idea because it should be easier to truly compare each week. So a little over a week ago I went online to buy a dress. Yes, that's right, I bought my first piece of maternity clothing! Small milestones like this make it all seem so real. I figured this type of outfit would look nice for the pictures and I can still wear it to work once I do start filling out. Dress is from Pink Blush Maternity.
Here goes our first pregnancy blog post! So far no one could guess I was with child. Just a little bit of a pooch, but nothing my normal clothing don't cover up. That's good news so far, because all my clothes fit just fine. No need to buy more maternity clothes... yet.
Week Number: 12 weeks, 2 days
Baby Size: Peach (3 inches long)
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well. I do get up maybe twice a week to run to the restroom. Otherwise I wish I could sleep 10 hours each night. At least on the weekends Joe has been great and let me sleep up to 12 hours. Yes!
Movement: Nothing yet
Food Cravings: I don't know if I would consider any of these actual cravings, but bread and other carbs taste pretty good right now. This week the Chicken Pot Pies you throw in the microwave have been tasting extra good, but that could just be my tastes normally. Oh and we finally bought peanut butter and that taste delicious!
Food Aversions: This whole first trimester I have put up a big fight against vegetables. Will this ever change?
Symptoms: I'll just throw it out there, I burp and hiccup a lot. That is one symptom that none of my books have warned me about. It can be gross and uncomfortable at the same time. I will also say everyday is completely different. Some symptoms I feel one day might not appear the next. Otherwise the symptoms are pretty normal (growing pains, headaches, fatigue, etc.) I wouldn't necessarily classify my pregnancy as having true morning sickness, but there have been some days where I thought it would happen.
Belly Button: Still an "innie"!
Best Moment Of The Week: Receiving gifts in the mail from our great families and friends. Thank you all who have sent best wishes (and onsies) our way, we so appreciate it!
Looking Forward To: Getting over the first trimester hump and on to more energy, less headaches and no queasiness.
